Avian Influenza

 

1. South Africa reported 2 poultry and 8 wild bird HPAI H5N1 outbreaks across 3 regions on September 22, affecting 70,000 poultry (25,000 deaths, 180,000 culled) and 247 backyard poultry (240 deaths, 5 culled).

 

2. Poland confirmed 6 poultry and 1 wild bird HPAI H5N1 outbreaks between September 22 and October 7, with 119,000 poultry infected (8,090 deaths, 12,000 culled) and 3 wild bird deaths.
