Avian Influenza

 

1.  19 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Poultry and 3 in Wild Birds in Germany

    On October 27, 28, and 29, Germany reported 19 HPAI H5N1 outbreaks in poultry and 3 in wild birds across six regions including Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. 2,546 poultry were infected, 1,972 died, and 324,000 were culled. Three wild birds died from infection.

 

2.  6 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Wild Birds in Belgium

    On October 27 and 31, Belgium reported six HPAI H5N1 outbreaks in wild birds across two regions, including Flanders. Six wild birds died from infection.

 

3.  2 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Poultry and 29 in Wild Birds in the Netherlands

    On October 27, 28, and 31, the Netherlands reported two HPAI H5N1 outbreaks in poultry and 29 in wild birds across six regions, including Gelderland. 500 poultry died from infection, 162,000 poultry were culled, and 32 wild birds and free-range poultry died from infection, with 127 culled.

    On October 27, Italy reported three HPAI H5N1 outbreaks in poultry and two in wild birds across three regions, including Emilia-Romagna. 15,000 poultry were infected, 1,672 died, and 193,000 were culled. Two wild birds died from infection.

    On October 27 and 31, Sweden reported one HPAI H5N1 outbreak in poultry and three in wild birds across two regions, including Tomelilla Municipality. 2,198 poultry were infected, 1,253 died, and three wild birds died from infection.

    On October 27 and 31, Denmark reported one HPAI H5N1 outbreak in wild birds and two in poultry across two regions, including Assens Municipality. Four free-range poultry died from infection, two were culled, 359 poultry died from infection, and 66,000 were culled.

 

7.  2 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Poultry and 1 in Wild Birds in Poland

    On October 27 and 30, Poland reported two HPAI H5N1 outbreaks in poultry and one in wild birds across two regions, including Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. 190,000 poultry were infected, 955 died, 11,000 were culled, and three wild birds died from infection.

 

8.  9 HPAI H5N1 Outbreaks in Poultry and 1 in Wild Birds in Canada

    On October 27 and 31, Canada reported nine HPAI H5N1 outbreaks in poultry and one in wild birds across five regions, including British Columbia. 43,000 poultry died from infection, 434,000 were culled, and 56 wild birds and free-range poultry died from infection, with 41 culled.

    On October 27, Israel reported one HPAI H5N1 outbreak in wild birds in the Northern District. One wild bird died from infection.

    On October 27, Ireland reported one HPAI H5N1 outbreak in wild birds in County Cork. Seven wild birds died from infection.

    On October 27 and 28, the United Kingdom reported 16 HPAI H5N1 outbreaks in wild birds and two in poultry across three regions, including England. 24 wild birds died from infection, 9,718 poultry were infected, 373 died, and 18 were culled.

    On October 28 and 29, Norway reported two HPAI H5N1 outbreaks in wild birds in Rogaland County. Two wild birds died from infection.

    On October 29, Hungary reported one HPAI H5N1 outbreak in poultry in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County. 725 poultry died from infection, and 19,000 were culled.

    On October 29, Bulgaria reported one HPAI H5N1 outbreak in wild birds in Burgas Province. Two wild birds died from infection.

    On October 29 and 31, Austria reported three HPAI H5N1 outbreaks in wild birds across two regions, including Lower Austria. Nine wild birds died from infection.

    On October 30, Nigeria reported one HPAI H5N1 outbreak in poultry in Kebbi State. 13,000 poultry were infected, 686 died, and 13,000 were culled.

    On October 31, Japan reported three HPAI H5N1 outbreaks in wild birds across two regions, including Hokkaido Prefecture. Three wild birds died from infection.

    On October 31, South Korea reported one HPAI H5N1 outbreak in poultry in Gwangju. 12 poultry died from infection, and 121 were culled.

    On October 27 and 28, Armenia reported two rabies outbreaks in Yerevan City. One wild hamster and one domestic cat died from infection.
